DMC 2008 Gala
This is a special thanks for everyone who either attended the 5th annual Divine Mercy Care Gala at the Dulles Hilton on Saturday, November 15, or have donated time, talent, or treasures to ensure it’s success. Over 500 people gathered for an evening of friendship and “fundship” with founder, Dr. John Bruchalski. While the final tally of the funds raised is still days away, we can report that the live auction and the hero auction raised record sums of money for Tepeyac Family Center and the new DMC Pharmacy.
A special thanks to those who purchased tables for this year’s gala. The program is available on line to view. On page 11 you will find the generous table hosts. Another special thanks for the hundreds of individuals who did not attend but contributed financially to Divine Mercy Care by responding to the invitation. Finally, a humble thanks to the many volunteers who made the Divine Mercy Care gala a success beginning with Monique Baroudi and Anna Schiavone, the gala co-chairs.
The highlight of the evening was the main talk by Dr. John Bruchalski who spoke about the difficulties which may lie ahead due to the changing administration in Washington. He spoke of the anti-life provisions of the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), but also spoke of hope centered around the theme of the Gala, “still other seed fell on good soil.” In his letter in the program, Dr. Bruchalski noted that “Divine Mercy Care’s harvest has grown a hundred fold because of [the] prayers, financial support, and volunteer hours” of those present. “The seeds sown at the DMC Gala last year along have bore much fruit” with the addition of three new physicians to the Tepeyac Family Center staff and the opening of the new DMC Pharmacy in Chantilly.
The evening featured a seven-minute video of the changes since last year.
